The annual Young Enterprise East of England Regional Finals Competition took place on 2nd July 2007, at St. Catherine's College, Cambridge.
This was a very prestigious and historical setting for this exciting event where students participating in the Company Programme from the East of England region, came together to compete for the Regional Title.
This year, Essex was represented by "Coaching Kicks" from The Sandon School, near Chelmsford. Coaching Kicks secured their place at the Regional Finals having successfully won the County Finals Title on 14th May 2007. Their company came up with an innovative football coaching card product, which is designed to assist professional coaches in their coaching delivery.

At the event, the students displayed their Company trade stands and gave a presentation about the year of trading to a large audience of parents, teachers, VIPs and special guests. They were also interviewed by a panel of judges on their product/service, marketing methods, financial report and their ability to work as a successful team.
The overall winner was “Iceni” from the Suffolk region, who produced and decorated a selection of handmade jewellery and decorative items for the home. “Iceni” will now proceed to the National Finals Competition, which is taking place on 16th July 2007 at The Savoy Hotel, London.
The judges were highly impressed with Coaching Kicks; both with their creative trade stand and innovative product design, and the students were duly presented with an award for “Run the Gauntlet Award” to mark their fantastic achievements.
Despite not winning the Regional Title, Coaching Kicks have shown strong determination and with this, their Company success has continued. The team members have taken part in a number of activities to further promote their product including appearing on the local radio show “Dream 107 FM”, appearing in the local press, by visiting local league clubs and securing a fantastic contract with West Ham United Football Team.
The Young Enterprise Essex Team know this is certainly not the last we will hear of Coaching Kicks - we wish all the students well and long may their success continue.
